Peter Wheeler

Assistant Acoustic Consultant

Peter’s Role at Vanguardia is very data-driven, where he excels at processing information for reports, models, calculations and predictions. Armed with this data, he specialises in providing clients with system orientation and position optimisation, and advises festivals and events on noise impact assessments, planning, and noise management procedures. He is also heavily involved with environmental impact assessments, noise at work evaluations, environmental noise modelling and aids in planning applications for new developments

Starting as a Jazz singer, Peter decided to combine his love of both music and engineering by studying for a degree in Audio Engineering. He followed this up with a Masters’ degree in Applied Acoustics is currently studying a
PhD in Acoustics.

No Stranger to the live event industry, Peter has worked on festivals up and down the country, as well as on concert tours for international superstars like Elton John, Bon Jovi and Take That.

Peter strives to ensure that every part of each of his projects, both environmental and event based, is precisely calculated, and works with clients to find the unique solution needed for every situation. This trait has been used to great effect when working with events with his precision modelling allowing him to keep both local councils and music fans happy.

Definitely not the stereotypical jazz singer, outside of performing Peter is an avid fan of both American Football and Rugby and has had national trials in both sports.
