Vanguardia was appointed by the Wasserman Media Group (WMG) to produce a noise management plan for events held at the Supreme Committee Fan Zone (SCFZ) Venue in Doha, Qatar.
The SCFZ was constructed to provide a temporary venue from which screenings of the 2014 World Cup Football tournament hosted by Brazil were broadcast. In addition to the screening of football matches, an entertainment programme with live acts was also provided at the temporary venue. Noise resulting from a large number of air-conditioning units installed to service the venue was also taken into consideration.
Once the target noise levels were established and approved by the Supreme Committee a noise management plan (NMP) was developed that, with its implementation, would enable compliance with the target noise levels. The NMP contained monitoring and management procedures that were implemented to minimise noise impacts and their effect on local residents.
The venue was opened on Tuesday 26th June 2014 for the first screened match and continued with the planned entertainment programme until the screening of the last match which was screened on Sunday 13th July 2014.
